General Discussion / Re: Walk up song
« on: May 07, 2019, 08:17:34 am »
Tap the '>' button at the end of the player row to enter the song configuration screen.  On that page, the cue time is where the walkout song would start and the duration is how long it will play for.  You can set those values by dragging the slider or playing the song to the point you want and the tapping '[' for the cue start or ']' for the duration end.  You can also just drag the digits of the times up or down to pick a time or use the +/- buttons to fine tune.

I think that will work.  See what I can do.

Also note version 2.5.14 available in the app store today has the alphabetical index for the imports.  Let me know how that works for you while I work on the song usage icons.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Re: How to import songs

It sounds like you are emailing a link to a song rather than the song file itself.

Is the generic tablet an Apple or Android device?

Can you try emailing the song file to me at walkoutsongdj@gmail.com and I will see what is actually attached.

Nice, but perhaps too wordy for iphone layout...   What about a list of the icons for the pages that the song appears on?

Ok, that makes sense then...

I will take a look at level of difficulty and risk to add an alphabetical sort and side index for that imported file list.  See if I can get the feature added in the next couple release cycles.

I'm not sure exactly how the interface would look for showing which songs are in use, but I will add that to the todo list and see if I can come up with something.

Thanks for your feature suggestions!

Is this on an Apple device?

I have an alphabetic index for import songs on the Android version, but didn't figure that Apple users would have a large number of imports with the iTunes library available.

You are welcome... sorry that wasn't obvious.

I am a one man show software engineer and softball dad so my user interface design skills are not the best.

I will make a note to change that color scheme to be less confusing in future releases.  I also made some notes to clear up confusion between the imported songs and iTunes library based on your other post.  That confusion has caused suffering for more than a few people.

Issue Reporting / Re: Import Failure

I would only expect a version mismatch from a newer version of the app to an older version of the app.  Is this on Android or Apple?  Could you email that wsdj file to me at walkoutsongdj@gmail.com and I will take a look at the format to see what the format looks like.

The only steps to get player announcements to work is to enable announcements as you did.

Then add a player with a name and number, tap the big red play button next to the player and it should do a text-to-speech announce of the player name and number.

The red/green colors at the bottom of the player config screen are simply to distinguish between the two and allow you to overlap the sequence of the two as you like.  There is no status indication intended there.

There is also no option to play/test the announcement on the player config screen.  You must return to Walkout Song page and tap the Play button next to the player.

Issue Reporting / Re: Trouble importing songs

Are you on an Apple device or Android?

On an Apple device, you do not need to import from Apple Music... just add a player, tap the "tap to select song", pick iTunes library and your Apple music songs should be there.

If you are on Android, then there is no way to import from Apple Music as Apple has not yet provided any method to access the songs from a third party app on Android.

I anticipate release on Monday 4/15.  You are welcome to try the beta if you would like.  It seems stable at this point, but I would love to get a few more testers that would have a use for the new functionality.  I can send a testflight invite to you if you are interested.

General Discussion / Re: curious to red and gray on situational tab
« on: April 09, 2019, 04:27:50 pm »
yeah... sorry on the export without songs.  The app cannot move anything in iTunes and imported song sharing from device to device would get me in heat with the record industry.

On the suggestion... that is already in beta right now.  If you would like to give it a shot, let me know and I will send an invite to the email you registered with.

I believe you are encountering a bug that I have fixed in the last month or so...  can you try to update your app to the latest version from the app store and see if the issue goes away?

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Amoyshare getting tricky
« on: April 04, 2019, 08:19:59 am »
The free video converter at Amoyshare that a lot of Android folks use has changed the interface just a bit to trick more people into buying their pro version...

But if you tap the double down arrow below the listed pro versions, it slides to reveal that they still have the 128k mp3 version for free download.  I attached a picture of the button you need to tap.

Hmmm, I will have to take a look at that use case.  In trying to keep the interface as simple as possible, there are definitely a few corner cases that are not handled well.  Your idea to add a little dead space to the end should work, but I will add your use case to my list and see if I can find a way to handle it better.
