hmm... you crossed off many of the usual suspects and I cannot duplicate what you are seeing here with an ipad at 16.3.1.

So couple more things:

Does the problem happen if you just use the iPad not connected to the audio system?

Can you share your setup from the settings page of the app to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com so I can see if there are any clues in there?

Are you using a bluetooth speaker by chance?

Does it happen on specific songs, all songs, or just randomly?

Are you using Apple music songs?  If so are they downloaded or streaming from the cloud?

Are you using announcements?  If so, what type and are they before, after or mixed with the song when this occurs?

Have you tried power cycling the device to reset the Apple music player service?

There isn't a version of song collector for iPhone because it would be rejected by the App Store and there is not yet an option to side load to iOS.  I've heard side loading may be coming to iOS to avoid legal issues for Apple so I will have the song collector ready when that occurs. 

As a workaround, you can run the song collector in any decent Android emulator. A good example is  Bluestacks which can be run on windows or intel powered macs.  In the emulator, you can collect the songs and then share them via google drive or iCloud and import them on the iPhone.

Does it behave that way if you just play through the phone speaker?  Can you try using an aux cable to the speaker rather than Bluetooth?

Apple Music songs are all actually played by the Apple Music app player so double playback suggests some issue with that player that is keeping one instance going while another starts.  I would suggest killing that Apple Music app and seeing if that remedies the behavior.  You could also try a full device restart.

 I'm not getting any other reports of this issue and thousands of people are using the app currently so that suggests some malady unique to your device or environment.

Is it particular songs that always have this volume contrast or is it just random with any songs?  If you play the two songs in your example in the Apple Music app do they have that same volume contrast?  Are you playing the songs through a Bluetooth speaker by chance?

Change their number to 'double zero' in the number box. Both the Android and Apple app will accept that and it works.

Hmmm... I don't have a quick answer for you.  I've never had a report of playback stuttering from anyone before.  If the app had memory issues or couldn't play the songs correctly from the song collector, then you would not have been the first to let me know.  It sounds like something specific to your environment, but I can't think of anything obvious that would affect the playback.  Can you do a share data export of what you have setup to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com and maybe attach one of the songs that the stutter occurs with?

In the top right corner of the song collector app, there is a three dot menu.  Tap that and select video instead of song to switch from searching google music to searching standard google videos.  You should be able to find it then.   But just to save you time, I had somebody else request that I find that song back in February so I already gathered it.  It should be attached to this post. #BurgerKing

One thought that might get you by until I can add something... you could create multiple versions of the same team with the same setup just different announcements, then pick a different team version for each game.  There is a copy player option from one team to another in the walkout section that might speed the setup process.  Not actually random, but you could make it seem that way.

That would simplify the implementation a bit.  Only drawback I see is in the confusion level it could cause with more basic users.  You are the only one that has ever mentioned this feature need in the 10 years the app has been out so I don't suspect many others will understand the pointer from announcements to lists.
