Issue Reporting / Re: Simple song collector
« on: February 28, 2023, 08:08:24 pm »
That sounds like an issue with the Android media manager database.  You can verify the songs are actually downloaded by opening your Android file manager and looking in the Download folder and then the SimpleSongFinder sub-folder.  If they are in there and still not showing up in the My Music folder of Walkout Songs, then that confirms the issue is with the Android media manager.  Usually power cycling the Android device will reindex the Media Manager database and fix the problem.  If they still don't show up, you should be able to pick the browse option from the Walkout song picker and just manually pick the songs from that download folder.

Enhancement Requests / Re: Randomized Annoucements
« on: February 28, 2023, 05:58:32 am »
Ah, ok, hmmm...  That could be done but would not be a simple modification.  The database structure would need to be changed to accommodate the multiple announcements and that would ripple through many other aspects.  I can add that to my future feature list, but it would definitely need to wait until a lower risk time of year when the prospect of breaking changes won't impact so many spring users.

Thank you for the suggestion and I will update this thread when any progress is made.

General Discussion / Re: Remove a team
« on: February 26, 2023, 06:35:40 pm »
To delete a team or any group on any page, just swipe left and confirm the box that comes up.

If you want to add a team name where you completely cleared one, you just have to tap where the first letter is supposed to be and watch for the keyboard to pop back up, then type in the new name.

So you would be putting these announcements in the situational section?  If so, if you put them all in one group, I could add a shuffle button to that section like I have in pregame and inning break section so you could randomize that group at the game start playing them in random order, but not duplicating.

Would that accomplish your goal?

No worries, glad you figured it out!

There is no song limit in any part of the app.  What device type do you have, Android or Apple, and what is the source of the songs you are adding that don't show up?

The shuffle button for the situational page has been added to the Android version.  Please, update to the latest release and let me know how that works for you?

That feature could be added pretty easily...  What device type, Apple or Android, do you have so I can prioritize it on the right list?

This issue is now fixed with Android version 2.5.29 that should be available on the Play store as of 11/29/22.

Thanks to those who reported the issue and their patience while I obtained an Samsung device with the Android 13 update that could reproduce the issue.

Three users have reported an issue where their Samsung devices have updated to Android 13 and the google text to speech engine is muted for doing player announcements.  If you switch the text to speech engine to the Samsung engine, the announcements work, but the voice selection and quality is limited.  I have a galaxy tab s8 on order that should arrive on November 23rd.  Hopefully, it will update to android 13 and I can debug this issue to see if there is some setting or workaround that can get the google engine working again.

Issue Reporting / Re: open failed eacces (permission denied)

What version of Android did you upgrade to?  What version did you have?  What device model do you have?  Have you made sure that you have the latest version of the song collector app from here:  https://github.com/UpAllNite-Software/simple-song-collector/releases/download/1.0.12/ssc-1.0.12.apk

Have you verified in your Android settings app, under apps, under Simple Song Collector, that the storage permission is granted?

Issue Reporting / Re: Announcements/songs turned down via Bluetooth
« on: September 29, 2022, 05:27:46 pm »
That is rather common with some bluetooth devices and iOS since version 12.  The interaction between ios and the devices seems to miss the transitions from announcement playback to song playback from the Apple music player.  It doesn't happen with most speakers but there are quite a few that do have the issue.  The work around is to just use an aux adapter at the phone and a long aux cable to the speaker which gets bluetooth out of the equation.  Overall, it's a better experience anyway because that avoids the bluetooth latency.

This feature was included in the update released today, 2.6.12.  Check it out and see if that works for you?

Issue Reporting / Re: Announcement cut short and display error
« on: September 23, 2022, 09:46:55 pm »
Probably not the same error as the problems that started this thread are caused by iOS 16...

Can you give me a little detail of the problem you are having with the Android version so we can figure out a cause and resolution?  Are you having issues with announcements or something with the cue and duration pickers?

Enhancement Requests / Re: Inning break songs
« on: September 22, 2022, 10:26:59 am »
On the settings page of the app, you can set the default inning break duration to a different value up to 230 seconds.  That is only applied to new inning break song additions, but you could remove them all and add them back.  I could extend that configuration value to a bigger value, but generally 4 minutes is really long for an inning break.

You can also tap the arrow to the right of each inning break song and set the duration to the full length of the song.

If you know a particular inning break is going to be long, you can start the break, tap the play to end button at the top and it will ignore the duration configured and play it all or until you manually fade.
