Enhancement Requests / Re: Music sort
« on: May 05, 2018, 07:39:26 pm »
There isn't a way yet, but it is on my roadmap list.  I expect to add that some time this summer.  Thanks for the request.. that does help the motivation to keep the app fresh!

Well, I guess my testing coverage needs some work... I will try some text magification here on my test devices and see if I can't get that fixed for my next update.  Thanks for the report!

Is this Apple or Android?  What is the device model?  Do you have the font magnified to make text easier to read?

Issue Reporting / Re: Voice Announcement not working right.
« on: May 01, 2018, 11:36:40 am »
First verify that you have the latest version of the App.  The Apple Music support had some problems in the first couple versions and then iOS 11.3 added some bugs in the Apple system player which required work arounds.

If you are still having issues,  could you tell me if you are doing the announcements before or after the walkout song?  Could you also tell me the brand of bluetooth speaker you are using?

With that info, I could do some tests here to see if I can duplicate the issue and find a fix or workaround...

If you wish to just avoid any possible problems, I would recommend avoiding using Apple Music song sources for the walkout songs with announcements.   Apple forces me to use and manipulate the system player and system volume for playing and fading Apple Music songs.  It works pretty well when directly wired, but there are some bluetooth speakers that do not handle the volume change very well.

If you instead use purchased songs for the walkouts, then the app can manipulate the raw audio samples to do the fading and avoid any manipulation of the system volume.

Enhancement Requests / Re: Walkout Songs - Add "Position" Column/Field
« on: April 30, 2018, 11:42:53 am »
Excellent list! That is pretty much what I was thinking of for my dropdown column.  It is on the short list of update features so look for it when the season winds down some and I don't risk breaking the app during prime season.

Which voice are you using?

The app has no control over how the voices annunciate, but it is possible I could convert the number to its word form and see if that works better.

I suppose that could work all though it might be a lot of typing if you want the text to speech to sound right.  Abbreviations like 1B wouldnt get spoken exactly that way.

Did you have something in mind other than the standard positions that could be put in a dropdown list?

For some unexplained reason, Google Play puts your purchased files in a private folder on the phone. You can't see them in file manager and the Walkout Song App can't access them. The only solutions I know of is to go to the Google Play store on a pc and download them there and transfer to your phone.

Version 2.3.20 was released from the App Store on April 20, 2018.

Fixed two long standing bugs:
- Issue that would repeat songs in the pregame list if the next song had never been scrolled into view since the last app restart (existed since original release)
- Issue where newly added items in the between inning, situation, pregame list would always appear at the top of the list after app restart (existed since 2014)

 open the team list
tap once on the team item to select it
tap again on the team name to start the text editor and pop up the keyboard

Issue Reporting / Re: Songs sometimes play on repeat during pregame?
« on: April 19, 2018, 09:29:04 am »
Thanks to your clue, I believe I finally found the issue!

It was a pretty obvious coding error in the handling of playing the next song when it has not ever been scrolled into view yet.

I will be submitting an update to Apple today to address it.  Until the update is out, if you just scroll your pregame list all the way to the bottom before starting to play, it should avoid the issue.

Pretty crazy that bug has been there since the beginning.  I wonder how many people ran into it and just ignored it.

That may be a pretty good clue... When you first open the app and go to that page, how many songs are visible in the table?

That does sound like something in the app.  I have heard similar reports in the past, but I have never been able to duplicate it and I couldnt see any way it could happen in the code.

I will take a look at it this week and see if I can figure it out and fix it.

Let me know if you notice any more clues to how to replicate.  It is so much easier to fix if I can make it happen here.

Best Walkout Songs / Re: Top 100 Walkout Songs as of April 23, 2016
« on: April 14, 2018, 05:16:13 pm »
Sadly, the music industry would frown upon links to download songs for free and I would have to remove them if they were here.

Seems the free music peer to peer sharing has gone way farther underground since the Napster 90's.
