There is not much configurability to the fade and announcement ducking.  I tried to best fit the majority of situations and keep the configuration simple.  There is a fade seconds setting on the config page that will allow you to speed up the fade seconds, but the lowest setting is .7 seconds.  I could add an option to disable the fade completely, but that would be a global setting as I would rather not add a config option to each song to avoid complicating the interface for a very specific and so far rare use case.

If you would like to email me a song, announcement, and a screen shot of how you configure it.  I can try to duplicate what your hearing and see what I can do to improve it.  Email those to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com

Enhancement Requests / Re: Announcement/Song blend

For purchased and imported songs, that would be possible... for Apple music songs, not so much.  Which type of songs are you blending with?

General Discussion / Re: File not Found Error
« on: March 24, 2019, 08:18:58 pm »
Just to wrap up this conversation... the file not found error with Apple music songs was an issue with songs added from a playlist that had not been added to the itunes library individually.  I found a workaround for this issue and released it in version 2.5.11.  I also found a way to allow mixing of Apple music songs.  That feature was also included in this latest release.

Yes, you can play songs on all pages from any start point you want...

Tap the arrow to the right of the player or song row to bring up the song configuration.  Set the 'cue' time to where you want the song to start.  You can set the cue time by using the plus and minus buttons, dragging the digits up or down, or by playing the song to where you want and tapping the button with the open bracket on it - '['

Issue Reporting / Re: Ping

Honestly...  if you could see the layers of instability Apple introduces between the device and the bluetooth speaker you would have zero confidence for game day.   The long aux cable is the way to go!

There are a few bluetooth speakers that don't get along well with iOS 12 and mixed audio sources.  I expect this will be fixed in iOS 13, but in the meantime you will probably just need to use a long aux cord to your speaker rather than bluetooth.

This was found to be a bug in the Android version of the app and has been fixed in release 2.5.10 which should be available in the Google play store today.

Thanks for reporting the issue!

Release Notes / New beta version 2.5.11 for iOS devices
« on: March 19, 2019, 06:18:46 am »
There is a new beta version 2.5.11 of Walkout Song DJ for Apple devices available today 3/19/19.

The primary feature of the beta is support for mixing Apple Music songs with announcements. For Apple music subscription songs, the playback interface from Apple is very limited and required a more complex approach.  I think I have most of the kinks worked out on that and a beta is finally ready.  Message me your email address here or on facebook if you would like to participate.

The only known issue with the mixing feature beta is some muting of the announcement on a small number of bluetooth devices combined with iOS 12.  The feature is not workable with those devices unless you use a long aux cable rather than bluetooth.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Apple Music file not found error
« on: March 18, 2019, 10:00:32 pm »
To those using the iOS version with Apple Music and getting file not found errors shortly after adding a song to Walkout Songs...  there was a bug in the app that prevented location of Apple Music songs picked from playlists that were never added to the iTunes library individually.  This is now fixed in version 2.5.11 and released to the app store today 3/20/19.  I do use phased release with updates over 7 days, so you may need to search for the app in the appstore and manually get the update if you need it quicker.

General Discussion / Re: Moving app and files to new Ipad
« on: March 18, 2019, 09:06:33 am »
Download the app on the new device...

On the old device, go to the settings tab of the app, select export data and email the settings to yourself

On the new device, open the email, long tap on the attachment and select 'copy to walkout songs' to import the data.

On the new device, download all the same songs from iTunes that you were using on the old device.

The app should match up the songs and work as it did on the old device.

Y'know I've had the feature on the todo list for a couple years, but not a high priority as nobody had requested it.  Thanks for confirming that somebody would use it if I put it in... 👍🏼

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Re: Pregame

That sounds like it might be a bug...  It is supposed to break sequence if you get a phone call or tie up the audio in some way, but other tasks should allow it to keep going.  Can you tell me if you are using the Apple or Android version of the app?   And when you say the settings of the App, do you mean just tapping the gear at the tab bar at the bottom of the app?

I have a few logging hooks in the app to gather anonymous feedback of specific functions.  I usually log usage of a new features for a version or two to figure out if it's being used, working, misbehaving or crashing.  It isn't specifically in just the beta versions, but the version of the app is included in the logging so when the app is only available to beta users, it is easy to recognize that usage.

Enhancement Requests / Re: Announcement Effects

This feature is now implemented on the Apple version, but the effects are applied during recording.  i anticipate adding it to the Android version in the next month or so.

Your request has not fallen through the cracks... it is actually now at the top of the list and should be started on in the next week or so.  I did a little analysis when you first requested it and it isn't hugely complicated but it is a pretty drastic and risky change under the covers so I needed to attack it as a single feature update. That just didn't fit with all the little features I've had on the list for a while.
