Enhancement Requests / Re: Add music from Amazon prime music

Google music does not yet provide any player api for any of their music services.  I have been watching for one. 

In theory, I could provide support for playback of any youtube url, but the app would then require continuous internet access for playback as it would break youtube terms of service to cache anything.  Would that still be of value with that condition?

iOS beta 2.4.2 of Walkout Song DJ is now available. 

Changes for this release:
-added support for iPhoneX screen layout
-reduce delay between announcement & walkout song in before mode
-fix number sequence bug in inc/dec of cue time
-silence the stutter in first Apple Music song playback after app open

Most people will just find a coach or parent with a good voice and have them record announcements for each player either within the app or with a third party voice recorder and then import the files.

That sounds like you are now using songs from An Apple Music subscription?  The player that Apple provides for those is quite buggy and inconsistent.  I implemented many workarounds to smooth out the bugs, but the things you mention still happen occasionally when you first start a session and if your device has any issues with marginal internet connectivity.  If those hiccups are unnacceptable, I would recommend returning to imported songs or just purchasing songs individually from iTunes.  With those types of songs, the app has direct access to the audio data and I can use a much better player that I designed.

I suspect Spotify support will be years away if ever.  Spotify just does not seem to care for third party apps.

On the settings page the two default duration settings only apply to the walkout song page and the between inning page.  On the other pages, the default duration is full length of the song.  Does that explain the duration issue you described?

No, I'm afraid it is not...

Napster, like all the other subscription music services, encrypts and hides the song files on your device to prevent theft of songs you are basically renting.  Napster does have an interface for third party apps to integrate with for song playback without access to the files, but they will not allow integration with commercial apps like Walkout Song DJ without written approval.  I requested that approval back in February, but have heard nothing back at this point.  If they ever approve it, I will definitely do the work to integrate.  Perhaps you could let Napster know you would like to see that integration to see if that might stir them to respond to me.

I'm not sure what defaults you mean that are not set?   Have you tried just opening the file manager on the device, looking in the music files, tap on the trimmed file?  That should bring up the open with walkout songs option.   If it does not bring up that option and just opens the file in some other app, then you do have a preference set that you should be able to clear with the settings app like I described in my last response.

As for an add file to the imported announcement list...  I suppose I could add that in the future.  I will add that to the feature request list.

Since you are combining the song and announcement to one file, have you tried just adding your file as the players song rather than announcement?   Since Best mp3 editor adds the trimmed song to the Android music library, you should see the trimmed song in the Android music files.

I suspect what happened is that at some point you opened a music file with some other app and selected the 'always' button so it no longer presents a choice to open with Walkout Song DJ. 

You can test that by going to your settings app, choosing apps or application manager, then tap the three dots on the top right and select "reset app preferences"

The option to share the file should only be based on the file type and the app you are trying to share it with.   

What app are you using to share the file with?  Is it the same app as you used the first time?

If you can email the file that is not working to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com, I can try it here and see if there is anything prohibiting Android from recognizing it as an audio file.

- Work around iOS problem causing announcements to be silent before and after Apple music songs over some bluetooth devices
- Avoid cue view and settings unreadable when device large font selected
- Player and number sort buttons now available on iPhone screen size
- New sort button for pregame, situation, between inning views

No, still no response from Spotify.  As soon, as I get a response from Spotify, I will post it here.

 I would recommed sending a request to Spotify saying you would really like to use your Spotify subscription with Walkout Song DJ, but the developer is still waiting for their approval.
