To prevent incoming calls from interrupting Walkout Song DJ, you will need to do the following steps:

- open your iPhone settings app
- tap and open the 'Do Not Disturb' option page
- set the 'Manual' option at the top of the page to ON (moon icon appears on notification bar)
- set the 'Silence' option at the bottom of the page to 'Always' so it will block calls when the phone is locked or unlocked.
- set the 'Allow calls From' option to 'No One' so it does not allow calls from your favorites to get through.

That should do it.

Of course, don't forget to turn the 'Do Not Disturb' option back to on when you are finished with the game so you don't miss calls :)

News / Topped the 100 units sold mark
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:15:36 am »
Walkout Song DJ has topped the 100 units sold mark as of February 14th, 2014.

The app has been purchased in 22 states and 4 foreign countries.  The state with the most sales by far has been Texas, followed by Georgia and Florida.

With all those sales, it is amazing that there has not been a single positive review.

The sales trends are definitely in geographic clumps so it is apparent the app is spreading by word of mouth to friends.  If you like it enough to tell your friends, please take just a couple minutes to put a review on the app store :)

Yes, you can edit the player names, player numbers, and situation names by simply tapping on them in the grid and using the popup keyboard to make changes.

You do not need to press the edit button before doing these in-place edits.

The edit button is only needed to delete entries or to rearrange them.

Walkout Song DJ will let you add a song if it has a valid file path in your iTunes library.

Sometimes a song can have a valid file path on the device, but apparently cannot be read by the iOS libraries used by the program.

We did not encounter any of those songs in the testing of the application, but this scenario has been reported by a few users.

In versions prior to 2.1.5, these unplayable songs presented an error message box saying that the file can't be found on the device.

That message was misleading and was fixed in version 2.1.5 to present a new error message explaining the actual problem of an audio file with audio tracks that cannot be read.

If you do encounter such a file and would like us to diagnose the actual problem so you could possibly use the song, then please post a link to the file or send a PM to the "UpAllnite Software" and we will take a look.

Yes, you can change the default duration for the walkout song view and the inning break view.

If you go to the settings applet for your device, you should see an icon for Walkout Song DJ settings.  Tap that icon and it should bring up selectors for the default duration controls.

The installation defaults are 11 seconds for walkout songs and 120 seconds between innings, but you can pick a default anywhere from 7-20 seconds for walkouts and 70-160 seconds between innings.

If you have a need for a value beyond those ranges, please post here and we can try to add that option in future versions.

The songs that generate the 'Song Not Available' popup are either cloud songs or digitally protected.

Walkout Song DJ cannot play digitally protected songs because it does not have access to the encryption keys.
iTunes does provide a method to re-download these older protected songs in the new rights free format if the song is still available on iTunes and if the original purchase is listed under your iTunes account.  Please consult Apple Support documentation for details.

Walkout Song DJ also cannot play the iCloud items directly.

These are items that you bought (probably on another device) but have not downloaded to the device you are using. You should be able to open your iTunes app on the current device and click on the cloud icon to download those songs locally. Once the cloud items are downloaded, you can add them to Walkout Song DJ and they will play normally.

It actually doesn't make too much sense to try to set a cloud item for a walkout song.  The batter would get a little annoyed waiting for their song to start streaming  :)

At this time, there is no Android version of Walkout Song DJ...

The original target for Walkout Song DJ was the iPod and iPad because the iTunes music library makes a great existing source for the Walkout music.

It would not be very difficult to port the code over to Android so it could be done if there is enough demand.

Please comment on this thread if you are part of the demand for an Android version.

When enough demand is demonstrated, it will be created.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Export and Import of configuration
« on: November 17, 2013, 08:51:49 pm »
From the options menu, select 'Export Data'

That will create an export file for you and prompt for an email address destination.

You can then open that email on another device and tap and hold the configuration file attachment. You will then be prompted to open the file with Walkout Song DJ and your configuration will be imported.

The song links imported can only be relinked on the new device if the song title exists on both devices.  You can usually set that up very easily by syncing both devices with the same iTunes account.
