The update version 2.3.21 is live on the store and should have text to speech working again...

Many apologies for the inconvenience!

I was adding an error handler to the Text To Speech initialization and had to force an error to test the handler.   Left the stupid force in the code...
Arghghg!!!  Sorry about that!   Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Should be an update on the store within the hour.

Sounds like the text to speech engine settings may have changed on the device.

This link has a pretty good tutorial of how to get the correct text to speech engine selected and install voices:

https://www.androidauthority.com/google-text-to-speech-multiple-male-female-voices-673214/

Let me know if that helps or if we need to look deeper.

Where is your music currently?   Is it in files somewhere?

Issue Reporting / Re: Ping
« on: April 03, 2018, 10:30:40 am »
The problem is that Apple requires the app to use the system volume to fade Apple Music subscription songs combined with the fact that your bluetooth speaker chimes when the volume is changed.

Using iTunes purchase songs is a good solution as then the app can fade the raw audio samples and avoid touching the volume control.

Thanks for working through the problem with me as I'm sure others may encounter the issue and now I will know what to tell them!

I should be able to help...  but "can't play music' is a little vague.

Could you give more detail about where you are stuck?

Ok, got the sound sample... thanks for reminding me about that email address.  I thought I changed that forum contact email and it turns out there were 7 unread emails in there :(

Anyway...  You are right, that sound seems intentional by some piece of hardware and your observation seems to indicate that it is occuring when the app fade starts for the cut songs.  With purchased songs, I can fade start things by manipulating the raw audio sample data.   With Apple Music songs, I cannot access the raw data and must manipulate the volume of the entire device.  I suspect that sound is warning you that the volume has been turned down to zero.  Perhaps that warning could be turned off in the settings for the exogear device or the Apple device.

If you can't find anyway to disable it, I might be able to change the fade logic to go close to, but not all the way to zero.  You could test that theory by manually running your volume down to zero and see if it makes the tone and then try close to but not quite zero.

Issue Reporting / Re: Export announcer recordings
« on: April 02, 2018, 07:47:16 am »
For now, you would have to record them again on each device.   Oversight on my part when I added the voice recording function.  It is on my list of new features to allow exporting them so it should be supported soon, but probably not in time for your needs.

General Discussion / Re: Suggestions

Currently there is one song per player entry, but you are free to add the same player multiple times.  I have contemplated multiple songs per player entry,  but I fear the complexity that would add to the user experience would not balance the amount of people who would actually use it.

Could you describe in a little detail how you imagine the interface for the multiple songs would look?  Perhaps you're vision would be less complex than what i had in mind.

Note:  disable smart punctuation in your device before posting.  The forum software cannot handle the smart apostrophe and truncates your post.

Issue Reporting / Re: Bluetooth not pairing iOS 11.2.6
« on: March 31, 2018, 07:18:26 pm »
That thread was about a problem where just the Walkout Song app couldn't play over Bluetooth.  The device paired fine and other apps could play over Bluetooth, just not Walkout Songs.  The problem you described involved the actual pairing with the device... is that correct?

I dont think so... the app really doesn't have any interaction with the actual audio or bluetooth hardware.  I have also never heard of anyone havng that problem and the app has been around since 2013.

I dont see an email with the ping sound and your post got truncated... turn off smart punctuation on your device.  The forum doesn't like the smart apostrophe.

Issue Reporting / Crash bug in version 2.3.17 for iOS
« on: March 30, 2018, 09:50:56 pm »
Found a bug in the song cue and duration configuration screen that will crash the app when it reaches playback end.   If you already updated to version 2.3.17, stay away from the [>] button.

Issue Reporting / Re: Apple Music integration broken in iOS 11.3

New release 2.3.17 for iOS is available in the app store.  It should address the bugs and changed behavior of the Apple Music player in iOS 11.3.
