You can create multiple teams...  just swipe the main team to the left and a new blank team list will slide into it's place.  You can then add players to that team and swipe back and forth.

Does that function work for you?

Issue Reporting / Re: Imported playlist not finding music
« on: August 12, 2017, 07:52:06 pm »
Do both devices have access to the same itunes library account?  The imported settings should be able to relink with the music if the itunes libraries have the same songs and they are dowloaded locally to the second device.

Not yet...  I have had that requested a couple times in the last couple months so I am working on that for the next version.   Hopefully will release that by mid September.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions...  To be honest, I never used the app for more than one team so the multi-team aspects were just a guess and your experience helps greatly with where it falls short.  I will make notes on all your suggestions and see what I can make work for the next upgrade work over the late fall and winter.

General Discussion / Re: Amazon Prime Music
« on: July 05, 2017, 12:51:49 pm »
If you can get the songs downloaded in mp3 or m4a file format, you can email them to yourself as file attachments.   Open that email on your iOS device and long tap and release the song file attachment.   That should bring up a menu of destinations for the file and one of those should be 'copy to Walkout Songs'.   Select that and the song should be imported into the app and available from the 'imported files' when selecting a song for a player.

I'm not sure if Amazon Prime Music will allow you to export the songs to a file format.  Most of the subscription music services will not as there is a huge difference to the music royalty payments for streaming a song from an internet server versus do 'whatever you want with a file'

You can't enhance the voices...  Apple does that.  There are several voices on the iOS list that are indicated as 'enhanced'. I'm not sure exactly what the enhancement process does, but those voices sound a little more lifelike and use more data on your device.

My favorite voice is probably the enhanced Aaron.  Best way to try them out is to just create a new player entry with a full name but dont select a walkout song for the entry.  Then when you tap the play button for that player, you get just the announcement.  Select a voice, tap that player, see if it sounds good, repeat until you find the best.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Re: cant load itunes

So when you went to the privacy settings, media and apple music, was the toggle switch for "walkout Songs" already enabled?

Do you have the latest version of "Walkout Song DJ"
Do you have the latest version of iOS?

Can you open the "Music App" without any issue?  The selector for iTunes songs actually runs within that app and I have seen issues where that app has been corrupted.  Usually a device power down and restart will fix the corruption.

Sounds like the permission for the app to access the iTunes library is disabled.  Go to the settings app, tap the privacy item, then tap the 'media and apple music'.  On the next list, Walkout Songs should be there with a little toggle switch.  Tap that to enabled and it should get it working.

Have you tried just setting the default values for both of those duration values to the maximum in configuration menu?   I would expect the max for those defaults would be longer than any walkout (39 secs) or inning break (230 secs) could actually require.   If not, I would be interested in the situations where you find those maximums are not enough?  I could certainly extend them if there is a good use case.

Not yet, but that feature is planned for the next update as it has been requested by a few people now.

I'm not sure I follow you...  what is the "text to voice" section?  I don't think that is part of the Walkout Song DJ app.

There are two ways to use a recorded announcement with the app.

The simplest method is to record your announcement directly in the app.
Tap the detail button for the player to bring up the player configuration
Tap the detail button on the announcement row to bring up the announcement selector
Tap the Recording item to open the record screen
Tap Record button and record your announcment
Tap stop when your done
Tap the back navigation buttons to return through the player configuration

The second method is to select an imported file you recorded through some third party application
For that method, you can email the file in mp3 or m4a format to yourself, open that email on the device, long tap the announcement file attachment and select 'copy to walkout songs'
*you can also export the file from iCould or DropBox drives if that is easier for you.
Tap the detail button for the player to bring up the player configuration
Tap the detail button on the announcement row to bring up the announcement selector
Tap the imported File row to open the file selector
Tap on the file you imported from the email above
Tap the back navigation buttons to return through the player configuration

Amazing no one has run into that issue before...  I will add a resolution as you suggest to the next update.

Thanks for the report!

Fade-in is automatic if the song doesn't start at the beginning.

There is a 'fade seconds' value in the config menu that defaults to one second and is applied to fade-in and fade-out.

General Discussion / Re: Cue
« on: April 25, 2017, 01:27:23 pm »
Cue is just the time to start the playback so you can start somewhere in the middle of the song.

I'm not sure what you mean by play continuously on the inning break songs....

Those are meant to be played as a single song for the time the players are warming up on the field.  The duration of those defaults to 120 seconds, but you can change that for individual songs or as a default value from the gear icon menu.
