Ability to search for song in "imported songs" folder
« on: May 02, 2019, 12:59:05 pm »
Hello,

Is there an ability to search for a song that we have already downloaded into the 'imported songs' folder?  Or have the functionality to sort alphabetically by title/artists in this folder?

Along those same lines, would it be possible to include which folder(s) is currently using the song.  I assuming I'm like most users, in that I want to avoid to play the same song for pre-game and during an inning break.

Thank you.

Is this on an Apple device?

I have an alphabetic index for import songs on the Android version, but didn't figure that Apple users would have a large number of imports with the iTunes library available.

Yes, I am using Apple (iPad).  I'm not using iTunes for my music.

Ok, that makes sense then...

I will take a look at level of difficulty and risk to add an alphabetical sort and side index for that imported file list.  See if I can get the feature added in the next couple release cycles.

I'm not sure exactly how the interface would look for showing which songs are in use, but I will add that to the todo list and see if I can come up with something.

Thanks for your feature suggestions!

Nice, but perhaps too wordy for iphone layout...   What about a list of the icons for the pages that the song appears on?

Icons or even abbreviations would work.

I think that will work.  See what I can do.

Also note version 2.5.14 available in the app store today has the alphabetical index for the imports.  Let me know how that works for you while I work on the song usage icons.

Thank you for adding the ability to view songs alphabetically.  It is exactly what I was looking for.

Just released a new Apple version 2.5.15 in the app store that includes your request for imported file indicators of usage in the app.  I use phased release so you will probably need to go directly to the app store to get the update on demand.  Please let me know how that looks on your setup.

Thanks.  I do notice that many songs have two icons on top of one another.  Mostly it is the "grill" icon over the "flag" icon.  Some have the "grill" over the "infield".

For these songs, I am only using in 1 location.

New songs that I imported were given the "grill" icon by default, instead of being blank (no icon).

That sounds like some bugs... can you email me a screen shot of how that looks to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com and what device you are using with the App?

Actually...  I think I see the bug already.  Since you have so many imported songs, you have to scroll to see them and Apple reuses cells for scrolling.  I didn't take that into account, so each time it reuses, the app is adding the icons to the cell overlapping what already might be there.   Hopefully, I can get this fixed up fast and get an update to Apple.

Thanks for trying that out so quickly!

No screenshot needed...  the bug was pretty obvious once you pointed it out.

I have the new build already posted to the Apple servers just waiting for them to review and approve.

I will let you know when it is available so you can give it a retest.
