I played with it a little more, and it appears that it only impacts certain songs. These are songs I downloaded in the past on a previous phone, but wanted to redownload onto this one. I don't know if it is just a coincidence or not.

Could those songs possibly be explicit versions? I have heard some issues where YouTube blocks those because they can't tell your age from an anonymous login.  If you could send me the YouTube link for one example, I can try it here to see if I get the same error?

I was able to download both without issue on my Android test devices so I would guess there is something on your device or possibly internet connection causing an issue. Try tapping the three dot at the top right hand corner and pick videos and search for those again. See if you can download it from those results.
