Update on Spotify support

(February 7th, 2026): I was once again reviewing the possibility of supporting a Spotify integration. Spotify does provide some tools to integrate with but they limit how much activity your developer token is permitted. That limit is 25 users unless you have a partnership with them.  There documentation for an partnership application has these requirements:

Please note that as of May 15th 2025, Spotify only accepts applications only from organizations (not individuals). For more information on this update, read here.

Application must be sent through a company email by using this form. Check out the implementation requirements below to make sure your company is compatible before submitting your application.

Implementation requirements:

Established Business Entity (legally registered business or organisation)
Operating an active, and Launched Service
Maintaining a minimum of active users (at least 250k MAUs)
Being available in key Spotify markets
Commercial Viability
Adherence to Terms


The 250,000 Monthly Active Users is the big issue.  They do not want to deal with niche applications like this.  I believe the Walkout Song DJ app MAU with Android and Apple combined is at most 60k in the big months of March and April and it will be a long time until the user base would grow to that size :(
