Issue Reporting / Re: Revived app to start a new...

I moved to a newer iPad and everything is good.  It was probably time.  Thank you for all the help and thank you for this app.  You make a lot of kids happy this time of year when they get to be like the pros and pick out a song to identify them or motivate them as they step into the batters box.

I did get a chance to test with an iPad Air2 and did not have any issues with Apple Music with the 15.7 version that was on it and it still worked after update to 15.8.6.   I did find that the iMovie example was version limited and did not have access to apple music in the version that can install on ios 15.8.6 so that is a bad test.  You can try to install the shazam app as the older version of it that can install on 15.8.6 does ask for an allow playing of apple music songs.

I wouldn't think that would be the issue because you saw the same issue with the iMovie app. My suspicion is some kind of oddity or glitch between that ipad and your apple account.  I do have an ipad air 2 here some place and I will give it a test tomorrow with the ios version you quoted and latest walkout song dj.

What are the chances the older iPad with a lower than "current" OS combined with the current version of Walkout Song DJ are having some conflicts.  I know these thing usually creep up the versioning together.

I've "borrowed" my son's relatively new iPad.  Setting it up now.

That would have been the my last suggestion and I can't believe that didn't fix it. That usually fixes just about any software misconfiguration.  I have never encountered this behavior before and I can find no other instances that weren't solved by something you tried.  Especially when you can't get music permission to work even for Apples iMovie app.

iPad wiped and reset.  Set things back up, downloaded Walkout Song DJ.  Attempted to go in and set up a new player without downloading all the old stuff into it.  It's still broken.
I checked all the places you mentioned before for settings and it's all still the same.

Yes I did all those things and looking for permissions.  After my reinstall of Music it didn't want to sync up with my phone and keep my playlists.  I had to fiddle with it to get it to.  I guess I'm reluctantly going to wipe the iPad.

Does seem that way, but I have no idea exactly what.  Did you run the iMovie app after install?  Did it ask for permission for music?  Also did you run Walkout Song DJ after reinstall and did it ask for music permission?

I installed iMovie, did not see music permission requests.  I uninstalled an reinstalled Apple Music.  Still nothing different.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Walkout Song DJ reimported settings, no change.  There have been several reboots along the way.  Have I got an OS issue?

If you haven't yet, please try a power cycle of the iPad to see if that restores the permissions.  If that does not work, then see if you have the Apple iMovie app installed.  That app requests music permission.  If it is installed, try to uninstall it, then reinstall it from the App Store.  Run it and see if it prompts for the music permission and grant that. Then go see if it appears in the privacy and security under media and Apple Music.  If it does, then the same uninstall/reinstall should work for Walkout Song DJ.  Removing the Walkout Song DJ app will delete your data, but it should prompt you after reinstall to restore from cloud backup.  If not, the file backup you emailed to me can be opened on the iPad and shared to Walkout Song DJ to restore.
