General Discussion / Re: AirDrop
« on: May 01, 2020, 01:33:00 pm »
From the native files app in iOS, you have two options with the latest version of Walkout Songs.  You can long tap on a music file and select share...  Walkout Songs should be in the list as a target and present the option to copy to import folders.  You can also tap the select button in the files app and multi-select audio files and import as many as you like.

If you are not seeing those options, I would suspect the files you are using are not being recognized correctly.  What audio format are they in?  You could share one to email to me at walkoutsongdj@gmail.com and I can try to duplicate the issue you are having.

The new version of the app also does a safety save of your data file to iCloud so you can recover if you delete/reinstall the app.  Unfortunately older versions of the app did not save the backup so there is nothing to restore from.

For Apple Music on an Apple phone, you don't need to import anything, just add a player, tap to select song, pick iTunes library and your Apple Music songs will be listed.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Re: Announcer Volume
« on: February 27, 2020, 03:03:36 pm »
The default volume value is still 1.0, but the value now used is whatever you set on the config page or 1.0 if you never touch the setting.  if you take slider all the way to the right, it will be the default of 1.0

Like I did mention, your's seemed an odd request because I have never heard anyone mention that the text to speech was too loud.  I expect there was some odd situation on your device where either the text to speech engine was disproportionately loud or the song playback was disproportionately quiet and now it has fixed itself.

I guess the slider setting will help if anyone else's device gets in that funky situation.

Issue Reporting / Re: Skipping Duplicate Song

Also, what is the source of the songs it is reporting as duplicate?  Are they from Apple Music, iTunes purchases, or imports?  If they are imports, can you email those to me as well?

Can you export your data and email to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com.  I will take a look at the code and see how that could happen.

Speech volume setting is now available in version 2.5.24 released from the App Store today 2/25/20.  It is on phased release so you may have to search it out directly on the App Store to get the update immediately.  Please give it a try to see how it works and give the app a great review for my amazing responsiveness  :)

I don't have a text-to-speech volume setting available in the app, but I think there is a volume setting available from the iOS speech engine.  I did not include it before because it is always at max volume and that always seemed too low to me.  I will take a look to see if a volume setting can be added and get that into the next version.

Thanks for your suggestion!

Is this on Apple or Android?  I have never heard anyone say the text to speech was too loud before.  Also what is the source of your music?

General Discussion / Re: Pregame Intro

Can you believe the app has been out since 2013 and a pregame full team announcement feature hasn't been asked about before.   I will add your suggestion as a feature request on the todo list.  In the meantime, if you have a decent voice or another coach/parent that does, you could use the recording option to record the specific voiceover you want and then combine it with a song in the walkout section.

162
Good to hear!  Not sure why you would have had issues with the older phone... how old is older?

163
You should be able to open the email with the announcements, tap each announcement and you should have the option to copy to walkout songs.  It will then ask you if they are songs or announcements.  Pick announcement and you will get confirmation.  Then for each player, go to song config, announcement selector, pick import file, and then pick the one with their name that you imported.

If you have the new beta version of Walkout songs on both phones, you could also share the recordings to your iCloud and then on the target phone multi select all the announcements and import them all at once as announcements.

164
Do the share data action from the config page to export the setup to a file you can email to the other phone and import.

Then you have to download the same music files on the other phone to match the setup as record industry frowns on apps moving music.

You can then go into the 'Recorded Announcements" item on the config page of your source phone to view and export your recorded announcement files.  You can then import those from email and just reconnect them to the proper batters as imported rather then recorded announcements.

Do you already have song files or are you looking for how to acquire them?
