There is not yet a way to create a script per player.  There is only one script stored in your device settings so that is applied to all ai generates until it's changed. You're actually the first person that has suggested or requested that.  I will add that to the feature request list and see how difficult it would be to implement and if others would use the feature.

Spotify does not legally allow this type of app to access their music sources.  I would love to support it if they ever change that policy, but they don't even respond to requests I make to ask if there are options they can support.

Could you go into the data section of the setup page and select the ai generated announcements and export one of the original miles voice announcements and then one from today and send those to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com so I can listen to the difference.   Also could you tell me when (date) you generated the previous set?

Enhancement Requests / Re: Game Mode
July 15, 2025, 10:46:54 PM
Great suggestions...  most of the line items have been mentioned before and are on the todo list, but no one has put them together in a game mode as opposed to a setup mode.  That's an interesting concept as I'm often battling between the best interface to set things up while still making it usable for actual games. I will have to play around with that concept a bit and see where it goes.

Enhancement Requests / Re: Save / Select Clips.
July 15, 2025, 10:36:57 PM
That's an interesting concept of the clips and probably not too hard to implement. I have not had that requested before. I will have to ponder that a bit.

Regarding multiple per player, that has been requested a few times and is on the todo list. That is quite difficult to implement as the data structure throughout assumes a 1 to 1 song to item.

The shuffle button feature on the walkout page should now be in the latest iOS version released 7/14/25.  Let me know how that works for you.

The first betas are completed and the final product is now in both App Stores. Thanks to everyone that participated and helped me push the app across the finish line!

If you would like to check it out, you can download here:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/summit-selfy/id6742571336
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.upallnitesoftware.summitselfy

Summit Selfy is on the fremium model so you can download for free, try most everything out, and subscribe to a very modest subscription price of 3.99 per year if you like it and want the power user features.

It seems the Murf AI people removed the Finn voice for some reason.  As that was the default in the Apple version, that will cause some errors.  I am working on a fix to pick a new default and better handle missing voices from Murf AI.  I have requested that Murf put that voice back as I suspect thousands of people were using it.  Please watch this thread for updates.

As a workaround for now, you should be able to pick a different voice and it should work.

Unless you have a really old iPad that still had a 3mm socket, there must be an 'adaptor' plugged in to the usb-c port of the ipad and then provides a 3mm jack for the aux cable.  If you do have one of these adaptors, that is where I would suspect the problem to be. That little component contains quite a bit of electronics to convert the digital signal from the ipad to an analog signal that transmits in the aux cable to the amplifier.  It does have the capabilities to do all those things you mentioned if it is not functioning correctly.   My recommendation would be to get an apple official one and try that.

If you do have a really old iPad that had the 3mm jack, then I would suspect something faulty in the iPad itself as it would have the digital to analog converter built in and it could fail same as the exterior one.

And yes, heat could make that converter either internal to the iPad or external misbehave.

Wow, that is some pretty odd behavior with many symptoms the app has very little control over.

I have only heard of a similar issue once before many years ago and the environment was very similar to what you describe with an amplifier in a stadium.

There have been no recent updates to any playback functionality. Last updates to anything playback related was actually several years ago.

My first thought is you might have a flakey D to A in the aux adapter connected to the iPad.  Could you try a different one of those and see if the issue goes away?

what are you trying to accomplish?   If you are looking for the song collector, there is a link to it in the first message of this thread.   Just download and install that on your Android and start searching for songs.

Just download the latest update from the thread where you downloaded the original:
  https://upallnitesoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=246.0

It will install over the older version and should fix the issue.

News & Notes / Did ya ever?
May 07, 2025, 08:52:06 PM
Did ya ever go on an out and back hike with your dog, they do some business, you bag it up and set it along the trail to pickup on your way back and, of course, you forget about it until you get all the back way to your car.  Then you have to trudge all the way up the trail to get it because you don't want to be that guy?

Great news for you!  There is now an app for that called 'Summit Selfy' and that is just one of the coolest features.  Targeting the casual weekend hiking crowd, Summit Selfy allows you to track hikes, bikes, rides and even airplane flights.  It also lets you take pictures along the way and gather them together with the activity automatically so in the future you won't have thousands of cool outdoor photos and no clue where you took them.

After two longs years bringing the concept to reality, the author of Walkout Song DJ is ready for some interested beta testers to take the cover off and see how it works for a more general audience.  If you would like to participate, send an email to summitselfy@gmail.com with your email address and device type, Apple or Android, and we will get the beta out to you.
