Is this on an Apple or Android device?

Unfortunately, Apple does not provide any access for Apple Music subscription songs to third party apps on Android, and neither does any other subscription music provider.  I keep watch for changes in that situation on a weekly basis, but so far you do have to purchase each song or use a video to mp3 converter like the one online at Amoyshare.com to generate mp3 files from YouTube sources.

Reverting back to an iPhone might be the right option for you if all your music is in an Apple Music subscription.  Personally, I would never use my primary phone for walkout songs.  Much easier to just use an old iPhone or iPad.  Load the music with WiFi and then you can even hand it off to someone else if you can't make a game for some reason.

If you would like a refund of the Android purchase, send me a dm with the order ID that google sent you with your receipt and I can do that.

Enhancement Requests / Re: Batch Import songs

I agree that is tedious... I will check again this week to see if maybe Apple has added the support in iOS 13.  It seems ridiculous for iOS to support multi selection, but only post the first item in the list to the app target but that's what happens 🤷🏼‍♂️

Are you on Apple or Android?  I have that implemented already on Apple, but iOS will only send one of the files to my app even when you select more.  I assume they will eventually fix it, but not so far.  I have some work to add that function in the Android version, but it is on on my priority list to add.

Issue Reporting / Apple Music and Text to Speech overlap with iOS 13
« on: October 01, 2019, 10:41:12 am »
Apple did a bit of a butcher job with the overlapping of text to speech with the Apple Music player in iOS 13 and it is still broken in all the patches up to 13.1.2.  As a workaround until they figure it out... you can:

- try different voices (the behavior is different with each).
- try to either completely overlap the song and announcement or keep them from overlapping at all (one starting while the other is playing is the broken piece)
- purchase the specific songs you use for walk ups. (Non-Apple music songs do not use the problem player)
- use an alternate Apple device on iOS 12 or earlier.

Issue Reporting / Re: IOS 13 problems
« on: September 18, 2019, 06:29:56 am »
I did get fixes for most of the iOS 13 problems uploaded to the App Store and released last night.  You can search for the app in the store and force an update to get you past the black screen iTunes selector.

The big remaining issue that I could not fix is that Apple Music playback stops if the walkout song app is backgrounded.  That is fixed by Apple if you get or wait for iOS 13.1

If you find any other issues please let me know.

Issue Reporting / IOS 13 problems
« on: September 13, 2019, 08:54:12 pm »
With iOS 13 due out in a couple weeks, I started testing compatibility with Walkout Songs.  The tests did not go well so far with the most glaring issues being a black screen when trying to chose songs from the iTunes library and an app hang when the app is closed and reopened after playing a song.

Some of the issues go away when tested against iOS 13.1 which is due for release 11 days after 13 so I'm pretty sure Apple knows there were some glaring issues with 13 and I would suggest waiting for 13.1 and a new update from me to clean up the compatibility problems I can fix.

Issue Reporting / Re: Unable to add separate teams

Have you tried tapping on the teams button on the top left of the player table, then tapping on the plus button to add a new team?

Yes, tap the edit button and then drag the player rows by the gripper that appears to right of each player to set whatever order you need.

Issue Reporting / Re: Uploading music to Walkout Song DJ
« on: June 20, 2019, 05:40:51 am »
Yes, a drm converter can be used to change the encrypted mp4 files from Apple music to an mp3 file that can be imported by Walkout Song DJ.  However, that conversion is no longer required for the Apple version of Walkout Songs because direct support for Apple music songs was added to the app in spring of 2018.  The Android version would still require conversion because Apple has not yet provided an interface for third party apps on Android.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Re: Home Sharing
« on: June 08, 2019, 09:24:09 am »
Can you send me some screen shots to help me diagnose?  Send to email walkoutsongdj@gmail.com.

1) itunes library picker view from within the walkout song app.
2) songs view from the apple music app.
3) icloud file view of the songs you put there.

When you open the Apple music app on the device does it have any songs in the library?  All music from Apple Music and iTunes comes from an interface to that Apple Music app.
Please also verify that you have granted the permission for the Walkout Song app to access your iTunes library.

To access the songs on iCloud, you would need to long tap share them and pick "copy to walkout songs".  That would copy the song files internal to the app and they would be visible in the imported files section.

Enhancement Requests / Re: IOS Multitasking / Split screen Support

As a quick test, I checked whether gamechanger on iPad supports the split screen and it does not.  You should probably request that feature from them as well!

That does sound like a pretty useful feature.  I will add that to the feature list and see how hard it is to do.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Just long tap on that export.wsdj file and select "copy to walkout songs" from the menu that pops up.
