For the no decodable audio tracks... please verify you have the latest version.  Go to the App Store, search for Walkout Song DJ and verify it displays version 2.16.6 and the button says 'open' and not 'update'.  If you do have the latest version and you are still getting the error with some songs, I would suggest removing those songs from your iTunes library, add them back, then repick the songs for the players in the Walkout Song app.

Now on the text to speech, it sounds like somehow the speech queue has some screen reading going on.  I would check the accessibility settings to see if any screen reading is enabled.

There is no volume control on config page for Apple Music songs so that's why you can't see it.  They are played through the same Apple Music player used by the Apple Music app and Apple provides no option to control that volume.

You would only see the gain control for songs if you were using purchased or imported songs.  In that case, I have access to the raw audio samples and I play them through a custom player where I can control the volume.

That is why I have no explanation for what you hear.  Playing a song through the Apple Music app and the Walkout Song App should have the same volume.

Do you hear the same volume difference if you play songs through the phone speaker?

What device type are you using, Apple or Android?

Hmmm... that is unexpected.  Are you using Apple Music songs or songs you have purchased from iTunes?  The app actually uses the same Apple Music player to play Apple Music songs and there is no option to change that volume.  If you are using purchased songs, then there is a gain control on the song config for each player that can be used to raise or lower volume.    There is also a temporary decrease in music volume during player announcements so the announcement isn't drowned by the music.

New version 2.6.15 in the Apple App Store addresses this issue for Apple devices.

iOS version 2.6.15 released from the App Store on 4/24/23.  It is on a phased release so if you need it urgently, search for the app in the App Store and directly download it from the app page.

What's new:
- fixed 'No Decodable Audio Tracks Error' with Apple Music song playback
- Provide UI feedback during config import to avoid the app looking locked up while trying to add Apple Music songs to the device library
- avoid overlap of volume control on ipad display in portrait mode
- Share and import of data now includes your recorded and imported announcements

The only way to get announcements that sound like a stadium announcer would either be to find a team parent with a good voice to record them in the app or purchase professional announcements from someone that is a stadium announcer.  There are thousands of voiceover freelancers at fiverr.com that can do the job for you.  I have a recommendation of one on this thread:  https://upallnitesoftware.com/forum/index.php?topic=244

A few users who recently updated to iOS 16.4.1 are reporting failure to play some specific songs that used to work.  When they try to play them now, they get a 'No decodable audio track error'

I traced down the issue in the code and I am working on fix for release in the coming week.

In the meantime, you can workaround the issue by swipe killing the Walkout Song DJ app, and then going into the apple music app and removing the local download of the files that are generating the error.  That will force them to play from the cloud, but will avoid the error code condition.

Do the ipad and iphone have the same adapter?  I believe all iPhones use a lightning to 3.5mm adapter, while iPad uses and USB-C to 3.5 mm.  It is quite possible that the iOS update and that USB-C adapter are not getting along.

If it is limited to only when connected to the audio system...  you might want to try a different adapter between the ipad/phone and the aux cord.  Those have an d to a converter and have been known to be flakey.

hmm... you crossed off many of the usual suspects and I cannot duplicate what you are seeing here with an ipad at 16.3.1.

So couple more things:

Does the problem happen if you just use the iPad not connected to the audio system?

Can you share your setup from the settings page of the app to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com so I can see if there are any clues in there?

Are you using a bluetooth speaker by chance?

Does it happen on specific songs, all songs, or just randomly?

Are you using Apple music songs?  If so are they downloaded or streaming from the cloud?

Are you using announcements?  If so, what type and are they before, after or mixed with the song when this occurs?

Have you tried power cycling the device to reset the Apple music player service?

Did these songs work before and now they don't?  Can you share your settings to email to walkoutsongdj@gmail.com and include the title of which songs are having the issue so I can try them here?

There isn't a version of song collector for iPhone because it would be rejected by the App Store and there is not yet an option to side load to iOS.  I've heard side loading may be coming to iOS to avoid legal issues for Apple so I will have the song collector ready when that occurs.

As a workaround, you can run the song collector in any decent Android emulator. A good example is  Bluestacks which can be run on windows or macs.  In the emulator, you can collect the songs and then share them via google drive or iCloud and import them on the iPhone.
